Our philosophy
The best architecture is built on collaboration
We believe great architecture comes from bringing different perspectives together early—and keeping everyone moving toward the same vision through construction. Shared thinking leads to better decisions, allowing design intent to carry from concept to completion, and creates buildings that perform beautifully over time.

Who you'll work with

Scott Connor
Principal, Director of Design
Scott came to architecture by way of carpentry, and that hands-on start still shows up as a sharp eye for job-site detail. He grew up in Alabama tuning bikes at his family’s outdoor store, worked as a carpenter, then studied architecture at the University of Washington. He has been a licensed Washington architect since 2005. He’s also the office’s trail guide, always ready with a hiking or cross-country skiing recommendation, and his black lab Sasha has strong opinions about who’s allowed near the printer.

Chris Reinhart
Principal, Executive of Operations
Chris grew up on a farm in Oregon’s Willamette Valley stacking hay bales like Legos, so a path toward design was only a matter of time. He studied architecture at the University of Oregon and spent nearly a decade in high-end residential design in New York City before returning to the West Coast. Today, he’s the hub of Studio2x4’s operations, keeping people, schedules, and projects moving in step. He’s also the office cat person, father to kittens Merry and Frankie, and he can usually be found talking about animation, fast cars, and heavy metal.

Christopher Dukehart
Principal, Creative Director
Christopher grew up in the wooded suburbs of Seattle building treehouses and forts, an early obsession that turned out to be the first draft of a career in architecture and building. He studied architecture at the University of Washington and has spent more than 20 years shaping hospitality, multifamily, and civic projects across the Pacific Northwest. Off the clock he’s playing (or watching) soccer, out on the pickleball court, or deep in a board game with friends and family. His husky Kai, is still working on the bike-riding skills he’d need for the office commute.

Erin Reinhart
President, Construction Operations
Project Manager, Construction + Design
Mark Hunter
Project Manager, Construction + Sustainability
Barry Gibbons
Erin spent 31 years at one of the nation’s largest retailers learning that the fastest way to fix a broken process is to out-organize the chaos, rising from the sales floor in Eugene to VP running large-scale operations through thirteen corporate mergers in New York. She brings that same "get everyone rowing the same direction" energy to Studio2x4 Construction, along with a genuine love of neighborhood advocacy that's earned her a small army of Block Watch loyalists. Her vice, if she has one, is trashy reality TV, and she will not be taking questions about it.
Mark grew up on a local farm before earning his BA in Society & Justice from the University of Washington. While volunteering with the Peace Corps, he got hooked on masonry and carpentry and realized he wanted the skills to build for the families he was helping. He learned the trades in Vermont, eventually managing Recycle North’s Youth Build program, then came home to Seattle, renovated his own house, and moved into design-build. Today, he’s equally at home with estimates and hammers, and off the clock he’s playing music, kicking a soccer ball or running his business Storied at Home Shop + Cafe on Queen Anne,
Barry founded HD Seattle 14 years ago and brings that experience to Studio2x4, along with a deep focus on Passive House and building science. He’s passionate about performance-built homes, backyard cottages, and indoor air quality: anything that makes a house healthier and more durable. A University of Washington graduate with a BFA in Studio Ceramics and a minor in Art History, he’s also the office’s gadget enthusiast. When he’s not testing a new tool, he’s skiing, hiking, mountain biking, or out crabbing.

David Willard
Project Engineer, Lead Estimator
Hugh Miles
Construction Manager, On-Site Superintendent
David spent 17 years as a shipwright at Jensen Motorboat Company restoring wooden boats, plus five more running their office, so precision and organization come naturally. He moved into construction as a carpenter in 2021 and has grown steadily into project engineering and estimating. If a project needs someone to squeeze maximum function out of an odd-shaped space, and keep the paperwork straight while doing it, David’s the man for the job.
Hugh’s path to fine construction started with a cabinet-making apprenticeship in Austin, Texas, followed by years in New Orleans restoring historic homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. A native Seattleite, he’s since come home and now runs Studio2x4’s job sites with the same care and craftsmanship he brought to those restorations. With 14 years in the field, he’s the guy you want on-site for quality control and problem-solving.
Clear direction
The principals who shape the project remain actively involved throughout, creating continuity, faster decisions, and fewer handoffs.
Long-term value
By balancing design ambition with construction expertise from the beginning, we create spaces that are thoughtful, practical, and built to last.
Fewer surprises
The same integrated team is engaged from concept through construction, creating clearer communication, continuity, and fewer surprises.
Design integrity
The ideas that shape a project deserve to carry through construction—not get lost in handoffs, value engineering, or disconnected teams.
