Skillet Diner at Sea-Tac Airport

Skillet started as a Seattle food truck. Its restaurant in the North Satellite of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport serves the brand's comfort food in a full-service diner built for travelers on a schedule. Challenge The design had to carry Skillet's well-known brand into an airport. Every material had to be durable and easy to clean, and strict operational and security rules applied. Solution We translated the brand's urban, approachable look into a diner that moves people through quickly without feeling rushed and reads as distinctly Seattle. The interior draws directly on the Airstream trailer that launched the brand. Materials + Craft Polished metal, ribbed textures, and streamlined forms reference classic camping trailers. Warm wood, durable laminates, and graphics drawn from flannel patterns and workwear colors add a Northwest, working-class edge. Every material was chosen to stand up to airport traffic and daily cleaning.
